Assistant Vice President, Northwell Health

This program provides a unique and much-needed platform for healthcare leaders to connect directly with graduate students pursuing careers in healthcare administration.

Speaking to students and early careerists about healthcare leadership is not just important, it is essential. These future leaders are entering a complex and evolving industry, and hearing real-world insights on current trends, leadership development, and career growth helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application. Being part of the seminar panel offered a chance to reflect on my own professional journey. It was both humbling and energizing to share lessons learned, challenges faced, and the evolving mindset required to lead in today’s healthcare environment. The experience reminded me of how powerful storytelling can be in guiding and inspiring others. One of the most rewarding aspects was the connection with students. Several followed up after the session, and those conversations have continued beyond the classroom. This is proof that this seminar not only informs but also fosters lasting mentorship and networking opportunities.

Courses like this are vital. They expose students to diverse leadership perspectives and prepare them for the realities of the field in a way that few traditional courses can. I highly recommend other leaders take part in this outstanding program and recommend that all graduate programs adopt a similar program to further enrich the learning experience of their students.

Jill Huck

Vice President, Business Development and Strategy

Mount Sinai Health System

It’s essential to speak to students and early careerists in order to expose them to the realities and breadth of opportunities in healthcare. So much of learning takes place on the job, and cannot simply be taught from a textbook orlecture. Bringing leaders into the classroom allows for a real-time, candid exchange of information for students. The students asked questions that truly challenged my own thinking; the types of questions where theanswers are not just black and white. I don’t know of a class like this that exists in a formal manner. Tim has uncovered a need and has filled this void in a thoughtful way. Bringing this opportunity directly to students delivers value to early careerists who have not yet developed a network of professionals upon which to rely on for advice and perspective.

Zachary Almer, MPA, PMP, FACHE

Director, Strategic Project Management at LiveOnNY

I’ve had the honor of serving as a panelist for Tim’s seminars during the Fall of 2024 and the Spring of 2025. Throughout this experience, I’ve been continually impressed by Tim’s remarkable adaptability and attentiveness. He thoughtfully responds to the evolving needs of both his students and the institution, regularly refining the composition of his panels and the format of each session to ensure their relevance and impact.

What students seem to value most is the opportunity to engage in candid, meaningful dialogue with seasoned healthcare professionals who are actively working in the field. This environment fosters direct, personal interaction that not only provides practical insights but also inspires students by connecting them with individuals who have walked similar paths. When I was a graduate student, I did not have access to this kind of immersive, practitioner-led learning. I left each session feeling deeply grateful to contribute, and I sensed that the students were equally appreciative of the experience. I would be delighted to serve as a panelist in future sessions.

Allison Roditi, FACHE

Vice President, Orthopedics, Catholic Health

Being able to participate as a guest in Tim’s class was such a special experience.

I connected with one of the groups after the class was over as they were working on a capstone project related to orthopedics and setting up joint ventures. I met with them a couple of times and helped them shape their final project. I’m very much looking forward to hearing how the final presentation went and staying in touch with these students as they work in my field in our area.  This class is incredible because it gives students the ability to connect with professionals in the healthcare field, who can give them real time, practical advice and knowledge which will help them in their own roles or in completing the projects related to their classes.

One of the most important takeaways from graduate school is being able to take what you learn in the classroom and apply it in the real world, and Tim’s class makes that translation from academia to practice possible.

Nicholas Bilas, MBA

Assistant Vice President, Patient Access

Hospital for Special Surgery

Tim's leadership class offers an incredible experience. The dialogue was authentic, student questions demonstrated impressive depth, and the setting fostered genuine reflection rather than mere anecdote-sharing. Having graduated from an MBA program myself, I can confidently say nothing comparable existed during my time—Tim has created something truly distinctive. By integrating executive voices directly into the curriculum, he's established a platform that uniquely prepares students to learn, build relationships, and explore healthcare leadership in tangible, immediate ways. His extensive professional network provides students with exceptional access and insights that few academic programs can match.

Barbara A. (Karpinska) Hopkins, MS, MBA, FACHE

Strategic Growth and Transformation Executive

With over two decades of experience in operations, quality, and project management—and as a certified PMP and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives—Tim brings unmatched insights and practical relevance to the classroom. He creates space for students to engage with real challenges, ask bold questions, and begin shaping their own leadership identity. A class like Tim’s is important because it bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world healthcare leaders. This kind of exposure is essential for preparing thoughtful, future-ready professionals, and for ushering them into the business side of the healthcare ecosystem..
